The Lot et Garonne is an area in South West France offering beautiful scenery, historic towns and villages, excellent food and a selection of very reasonable priced wines. The Lot and the Garonne are major rivers. Along the Lot River there are numerous nautical activities one being a spectacular cruise, bookings are made at our local tourist board. This beautiful tranquil retreat nestles between Aiguillon (13th century medieval town) and Clerac, from there you have easy access to a variety of museums some specializing in archaeology and military architecture, for the more adventurous you might wish to take a guided tour round the Fontirou Caves at Castella. Many brochures are at hand for your visit, listing historic sites, canal boat trips, canoeing, golf, flying, horse riding, art, music and of course where to visit to taste the best wines of the region. The numerous villages in the surrounding area provides the chance to go to a different outdoor market nearly every day of the week, some markets are open in the evening. Access from the UK is easy, by car via the autoroute, by train to Marmande, Aiguillon or Agen (we are happy to collect you from the station) or by air to the airports of Bordeaux, Bergerac and Toulouse. (Detailed map to house).
